World’s Leading Jurists Call for Investigation into Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes in Burma (Harvard Law School, 21 May 2009)

The International Human Rights Clinic at Harvard Law School report, Crimes in Burma, commissioned by five jurists – Judge Richard Goldstone (South Africa), Judge Patricia Wald (United States), Judge Pedro Nikken (Venezuela), Judge Ganzorig Gombosuren (Mongolia), and Sir Geoffrey Nice (United Kingdom) – has just been released. Based on numerous UN documents, there is strong evidence that the Myanmarese junta is committing crimes against humanity and war crimes. Hence, all five jurists urge the UN Security Council to establish a Commission of Inquiry to investigate and report on crimes against humanity and war crimes in Burma.
